Back on the road after 6 days off! Now with company - our friend Carol has flown over to join us for the last section of our Italian journey. She's toured a bit before but never with the additional fun of camping.....! We couldn't actually find a convenient campsite for tonight, so she's getting an easy introduction ;)

We didn't enjoy riding into Bologna last week so forced Komoot to take us a different route. It was so much better! Much quieter. Nothing too special near the city but things get more scenic as you get further away, as is often the case.

We all felt the distance due to a terrible night's sleep in Bologna last night. Some sort of rave seemed to be going on near the campsite....until 2am! So it wasn't too surprising that we were a bit off colour. Still, a fairly easy day on the flat and it was great to get to our luxury accommodation. La Tomina is a restaurant near Mirandola that rents out its adjacent house. Three bedrooms with a kitchen and social space, for only 70 euros for three people. Perfect! The kitchen isn't super well equipped but we managed fine. Lots of gravel on the approach, and a bit of noise from a water pump, but still a good shout! Find it on booking.com.
