Borso del Grappa to Santa Maria

An absolutely stunning ride today. Once again, we were on more roads than cycle paths, and a couple of sections were very busy (particularly the bit between Cornuda and Vidor). Some of this was my fault for insisting the route take us past Lidl, however! Despite the busy-ness, I have to say once again that we had no problem with any vehicle. They were all very courteous and at no point did we feel in any danger.
We left grappa country and entered the world of prosecco. And very pretty it is too!! The hillsides just drip with vines. We were following the wine route for much of the afternoon, but decided that drinking prosecco probably wasn't the best idea on a very hot ride!
There are two campsites in the area, so of course we chose the far cheaper option of Riva del'Oro. It's right on the banks of the lake. The facilities are a little bit dated, but very clean and entirely functional. The MAJOR plus (apart from the 20 euro price tag) is that it has a covered sitting / cooking area, which was very welcome as it did rain a fair bit! Lots of people here including 5 other cycle tourists. No one seems to talk to each other though which I'm finding very odd, but I guess that's because there are so many of us doing similar things.
