Carterton to Wellington

We went back to the Wild Oats cafe this morning, and were not disappointed. Great baked goods :) AND one of the staff ran after us as we left and gave us free hot cross buns as she noticed we were cycling, fully loaded, in the rain! We felt like frauds as we trundled 500m to the station.....

You can take your bike on the train to Wellington with no issues. They have a 'guard's van' - you'll need to unload as there's a bit of lifting required, but you can also leave your luggage with the bike if you like. Easy.

We are staying at the YHA - it's pretty good. Huge. Great bike storage!
