Pukekawa to Ngaruawahia
Thursday March 1, 2018
We eventually dragged ourselves away from the view and headed south, mostly following the river. The first part of the route was very quiet and pleasant......albeit with a couple of km of gravel! Once we'd turned onto the larger road, there were quite a few trucks but, once again, they were mostly very courteous. Some of them do go fast though! Patchy shoulder once again - seems to be the way.

We stopped for lunch by the pretty lake in Huntly (there's a campsite there but we didn't see it) and then pottered along the last few km to Ngaruawahia. We stopped for supplies and then found our second warmshowers of the trip. A wonderful spot with great views and lovely people once again - could get used to this! We crossed paths with another cyclist too, what a treat :)
