A similar day in terms of road conditions - undulating, with a few longer sections but nothing major. Lots of palm oil and rubber plantations, and we also saw a coffee-plant nursery. Good road surface, decent shoulder and not too much traffic.

In Trang, we headed straight to one of the veggie buffet places for lunch, and I had the spiciest food I've experienced in 4 months! In fact, Ed had to eat it. The food was very tasty though!

We then looked around a bit for somewhere to stay and ended up at My Friend guesthouse - 550 baht for a small room with no window - it was a bit tatty too but the owners are friendly, there's free water and hot drinks, plus Trang cake in the morning. AND the bikes could stay inside. There's a nice outdoor area as well but we didn't actually make any use of it, hopeless! Sri Trang is nicer but 650 baht for a double was a step too far for us!

We had dinner at Fatimah restaurant opposite the station. Solid thai food - and so quick and cheap. They don't list veggie options explicitly but happily whipped up a veggie fried rice, mixed veg and omelette for us. 120 baht including two iced teas, awesome!
