Tough day today. There's a reasonable climb away from Garda, but the more taxing element was the long stretch of busy road as we approached Brescia. I had accidentally planned our route as a 'road ride in Komoot :( We didn't feel unsafe at all, it just wasn't any fun.

Brescia is lovely. We had a slightly disappointing lunch at a cafe, but it was nice to have a bit of time to appreciate our surroundings. We also tweaked our route....which did get us off the main road, but also the wrong way down one way streets and onto lots of gravel! Very pretty though, especially on the approach to the lake.

Top tip - give Lake Garda a wide berth and go to Lago d'Iseo instead!! Absolutely stunning and a lot quieter. Most tourists seem to be 'mature' but this does mean they're fairly quiet!! We're staying at Camping Iseo which is very nice and right on the lake (great for swimming!) Everyone else seems to be German which is a little disorienting, especially when you've recently been in a German speaking country!

Definitely time for a day off :)
