It also rained quite\na bit overnight so we had a leisurely start to the day, defrosting ourselves\nand drying our stuff.
\n
The descent from Andermatt is nothing short of spectacular. Narrow gorge to\nstart with, followed by the most incredible mountain views. It definitely\nrivals both the Dolomites and Slovenia, although different of course!! The\nroute flattens out on the approach to Lake Lucerne, with some good-quality\ngravel, eventually arriving at the shore. Wow! It's so beautiful.
\n
We then continued along route 3 / Eurovelo 5 which runs along the lake shore.\nWhile the views are stunning, it's a far from tranquil experience. There's\nbike path nearly all the way (and we used the footpath when it disappeared)\nbut it's mostly right next to a very busy road. The noise in the tunnels is\nsomething else!! There are a couple of short climbs which felt really hard\nwith yesterday in our legs, but are probably negligible.
\n
We found the Urmiberg campsite on google. Pretty standard (and right next to\nthe road which seems to be the way with this geography!) but only 22.50 CHF.\nWe'd treated ourselves to a packet of fondue in Lidl (in Altdorf) but are\nstill quids in today! And the fondue was delicious :)
\n
Sent from my iPhone
","frontmatter":{"date":null,"path":"/journal/221","title":""}}},"pageContext":{}}}
