Hooray!
\n
We headed down the valley on the Adige cycle path once again. Lovely views up\nthe hillsides - vineyards and villages. We turned off just after Rovereto,\nfearing hills and busy roads, but this was unfounded. The short climbs went\nalmost unnoticed, and nearly the whole route to the head of the lake was on\ncycle path. Hooray for European bike-friendliness!
\n
The first views of the lake are pretty spectacular. The hoards of tourists\nwere a bit of a culture shock, but we consoled ourselves with excellent\ngelato. We cycled just over 20km along the Eastern side - again, the traffic\nwasn't too bad at all, the road is wide anyway, and there are good sections of\ncycle paths. Even the tunnels are fine - so many cyclists!
\n
There are approximately one million campsites at Lake Garda, so Ed had spent\nsome time trying to identify the sort we like....he did well! We're at\nPrimavera which is small, quiet and clean. The lady spoke no English but good\nFrench, which made me happy, and is giving us a discount for being on bikes.\nThere's a tunnel to the lakeside, and a supermarket a couple of hundred metres\naway (that was even open on Sunday). The downside is that we are practically\nON the road, which is far from peaceful, but I can't see that any campsite\naround here would be different. The best news - THE TENT IS DRY!!!
\n
https://www.strava.com/activities/1798826767
","frontmatter":{"date":null,"path":"/journal/205","title":""}}},"pageContext":{}}}
